cant go back 1080pFollowing the critical success of her previous release “Surrender With Strength”, emerging singer/songwriter Giovanna follows up her series of extraordinary takes on the ever-ordinary world with her new single “Can’t Go Back”.

Her previous offering, ‘Surrender with Strength’ included a stunning feature that gained Giovanna awards at ‘The Accolade Global Film Competition’ and the ‘Best Shorts’ film festival in LA. The video also helped raise awareness for the music charity The Haven + London, an organisation that helps musicians affected by mental health. Produced by Liam Howe (Lana Del Ray, FKA Twigs, Ellie Goulding), the track shows an edge to Giovanna, with her ethereal vocal creating a haunting topline to the delicate, powerful instrumental made up of strings, piano and electronic blips.

Now Giovanna comes through with ‘Can’t Go Back’ – a gorgeously pared-back, ballad that underlines her ability to convey the kind of emotion befitting of a young romance. Again, it’s the presence of the trip-hop instrumentals that offer a unique style, a languid, 90s-era backbone to balance Giovanna’s plainly powerful vocal and evocative lyricism. The 2018 return kicked off in March with a remix package premiered by Radio 1’s Pete Tong. This comes after Tom Demac’s remix of Giovanna’s ‘Dreamworld’ gained specialist support from Radio 1’s Monki and Phil Taggart.

Working on her debut album with Liam Howe (Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs, Ellie Goulding) and Goetz Boetzenhardt (Faithless, Ella Eyre, Cinematic Orchestra) in London; This collision of high grade talent points to the reputation Giovanna is already forging for herself and continues to build the hype around her as a true one to watch for this year.
